Founder and Chief Servant

Mike Ashley Phiri is the Founder and Chief Servant at Therapon Consultancy, where he leads with the conviction that true leadership begins with service. A Clinical and Consulting Psychologist, Mike brings extensive experience in individual therapy, leadership development, organizational psychology, and community mental health. His work integrates psychological science, ethical leadership, and human dignity to help individuals and institutions move from fragmentation to wholeness.

As Chief Servant, he stewards Therapon’s vision of putting humanity back into human systems, guiding interventions that are grounded in presence, insight, and measurable impact, while remaining anchored in love, service, and care.

Mundeke Shamatanga

Finance and Operations Administrator

Mundeke Shamatanga serves as Finance and Operations Administrator at Therapon Consultancy, stewarding the organization’s financial integrity, operational systems, and compliance functions. With over a decade of experience in finance, grants management, and organizational operations, she brings disciplined oversight and strategic clarity to complex, multi-stakeholder

environments.

Her background includes senior finance leadership roles managing large donor-funded

portfolios, budgeting, audits, risk management, and internal controls. Mundeke ensures that

Therapon’s resources are managed with transparency, accountability, and foresight, enabling

the clinical and leadership teams to focus fully on delivering high-quality services. Her work

reflects Therapon’s commitment to stewardship, order, and sustainable impact.

Dr. James Kafwila Banda

Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist

Dr. James Kafwila Banda is a Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist with experience in clinical
psychiatry, public health, and hospital leadership. He is currently a Psychiatry Registrar at the
University Teaching Hospital and Chainama Hills College Hospital, where he is involved in the
assessment and management of complex mental health conditions across diverse clinical
settings. His background includes senior medical roles in district and mission hospitals, where he
provided both clinical care and administrative leadership, mentoring junior clinicians and
fostering compassionate, patient-centered practice. Dr. Banda has also contributed to the
validation of Zambia’s primary health care mental health package, reflecting his commitment to
strengthening mental health systems at a national level. His work at Therapon integrates
medical psychiatry with psychological care in service of holistic, ethical, and dignified mental
health treatment.

Inonge Liboma

Psychologist

Inonge Liboma is a psychologist with over five years of dedicated experience in the field of

stress management. She combines her professional expertise with genuine compassion, she

helps individuals of all ages transform their lives through proven stress relief techniques and

evidence-based mental health solutions. Her approach isn’t just about managing stress but

empowering clients to regain balance and achieve a state of well-being that lasts.

the daily grind, she tailors her methods to meet the unique needs of each client. From physical

relaxation strategies to mental resilience training, her holistic approach ensures that every

Vyatowa Munthali

Mental Health Practitioner

Vyatowa Munthali is a Mental Health Practitioner with experience in therapeutic support, case management, and community-based psychological interventions. She brings a strong foundation in therapeutic theory, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and psychodynamic approaches, alongside training in Psychological First Aid and the Common Elements Treatment Approach. Her background includes project coordination and stakeholder engagement in health and community programs, where she has supported structured implementation, accountability, and risk management. Vyatowa is deeply committed to creating safe, non-judgmental spaces for clients and has worked with individuals experiencing trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and addiction. Dr. Kakungu Kaite

Physician and Lifestyle Medicine Consultant

Dr. Kakungu Kaite is a Physician and Lifestyle Medicine Consultant with advanced training in preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and health systems design. He is the first Zambia-based International Board-Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician, bringing a rare blend of clinical depth, policy insight, and evidence-based lifestyle intervention to Therapon Consultancy.

His work focuses on addressing the root causes of chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease through data-driven lifestyle strategies, including nutrition, movement, sleep, stress regulation, and behavior change. Dr. Kaite has led and contributed to health initiatives across clinical, corporate, and community settings, advocating for whole-person care and sustainable wellness systems. His role at Therapon strengthens the integration of psychological care with lifestyle and preventive health, in service of long-term human flourishing.

Rumbidzai Taguma

Clinical Psychologist

Rumbidzai Taguma is a Clinical Psychologist with experience in individual therapy, psychological assessment, and community-based mental health interventions. She integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, with Therapon Consultancy’s human-centered ethos of love, service, and care. Chanda Kabanga

Psychologist and Mental Health Practitioner

Chanda Kabanga is a Psychologist and Mental Health Practitioner with experience in individual and group psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and community-based mental health interventions. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Gender Studies and has completed postgraduate training in psychosocial counselling, monitoring and evaluation, and applied clinical psychology.

Her work spans clinical settings, community outreach, mentorship, and advocacy, with a strong focus on promotion and maintenance of mental health, psychological testing, and psychosocial support. Chanda brings together analytical skill, empathy, and clear communication to support individuals and communities with dignity and care, aligning closely with Therapon Consultancy’s ethos of love, service, and sustainable healing.
