Introducing our ECO and founder, Mike Ashley Phiri. Mike holds a B.A in Psychology with Sociology from the University of Zambia and is currently a candidate for an MSc in Clinical Psychology. He has over six years of clinical experience, making him highly knowledgeable and experienced in the structure, culture, and social functioning of the Zambian society. Mike has held several significant roles over the years. From 2017 to 2022, he served as a Clinical Psychologist at the University Teaching Hospital, psychiatric department, Lusaka. In addition to his role at the hospital, Mike also held consulting positions as a psychologist for Psych-Health Zambia and the National Persecution Authority Gender￾Based Violence Department. His expertise extends to research as well, having worked as a Research Associate for the Centre for Promotion of Literacy in Sub-Saharan Africa-UNZA and a freelance M&E Research Consultant for Barefeet Zambia. Mike's areas of competency are vast and diverse, including Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Trauma￾Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Art Therapy, Health Psychology, Counselling Psychology, and Advanced Research in Psychology, among others. Recognized for his patience, commitment to learning, problem-solving, multitasking, and research and ethics skills, Mike has a strong ability to build relationships with people and provide appropriate and effective social planning and services. His ability to coordinate with superiors, managers, and decision-makers regarding ongoing project matters is highly commendable. Mike is a proud member of the Psychology Association of Zambia, Zambia Counseling Council, and Workplace Options International. He is committed to making a positive impact on mental health services in Zambia, and his passion for helping others led him to found Therapon Consultancy. We are truly fortunate to have Mike's leadership and vision guiding us. Adding to Mike Ashley Phiri's illustrious career, he is currently serving as the in-house psychologist at the Institute of Health Measurements Southern Africa. In this role, he is responsible for conducting the Leadership Development Intervention Lab Learning therapy sessions. His work at the institute involves guiding over 30 team leads, using his extensive knowledge in psychology and his keen understanding of human behavior to develop and nurture leadership skills. Mike uses a variety of therapy techniques to help these leaders understand their strengths and weaknesses better, manage stress effectively, improve their decision-making abilities, and foster healthier, more productive relationships within their teams. Mike's role at the Institute of Health Measurements is a testament to his leadership, expertise in psychology, and his commitment to improving organizational health and effectiveness. His contributions are invaluable in shaping the leaders of tomorrow, further emphasizing his impact in the field of psychology and leadership development.
